Appointment Tips for Better Service

Starting around October through January, the Luce’s Chimney & Stove Shop appointment calendar is often booked up to a month in advance. Because of the traffic jam right before the heating season, you may want to consider making an “off-peak” appointment. This way you can pretty much pick your time of service.

Best Overall Time of Service for Customers

The best time for non-emergency chimney repair and preventive maintenance is in the spring and summer. People are not thinking about their heating systems in the spring and summer, which is a good thing for those who want to get it done while no one else is. There is usually no waiting during these months.

We do send annual reminders for service just in case you forget and we confirm all appointments by phone 24 hours in advance.

Before Your Scheduled Appointment

There are a few things you can do about 24 hours before your appointment that will help the technician and make it an even faster process.

  • Stop using your fireplace, woodstove, or gas stove. We need to work with an appliance that is completely cool for safety reasons.
  • As a courtesy to our technician, please remove all ash from the firebox.

The Day of Your Appointment

  • Please remove fragile or precious items from the area near the fireplace as we need about 5 to 6 feet around the fireplace to be clear to get our equipment in place.
  • Customers learn a great deal about chimney safety from watching us work, so we encourage it.
